Bristol Homeless Connect Launch

Helping those on the streets access information, advice and services.

 

We love to do work that make a difference, which is why since last August we’ve been working alongside Bristol web company Modular and several charity partners on an exciting project that aims to make life better for those sleeping rough or at risk of becoming homeless in Bristol.

 

Bristol Homeless Connect is a new website that provides a single online access point for information and help on rough sleeping in Bristol. It means that people sleeping rough, or those at risk of having to do so, no longer have to individually contact disparate charities and shelters who may or may not have what they need to find out what’s on offer – they can get all the information in one place online.

 

It’s also a great place for those who want to help, as it will list organisations that are looking for support and how you can assist them.

 

The project is an initiative of the Rough Sleeping Partnership supported by the Mayor’s City Office and Bristol City Council. Charity partners include Caring in Bristol, St Mungo’s, The Julian Trust, Crisis Centre Ministries, and One25, with support from the Golden Key Programme.

 

Since 2010 the number of people seen sleeping rough has increased ten-fold. It’s something we’re conscious of and concerned about so we decided we needed to help in any way we could.

 

Working with web design company Modular we’ve been helping to create and refine Bristol Homeless Connect into a simple and intuitive website that delivers essential information quickly and efficiently to users.

 

To help support the launch we created a series of social media posters and designs to help drive traffic. For potential site users we created two printed cards with details and information on how to access the site and the support that’s available.

 

We’re continuing to work with the Bristol Homeless Connect team to increase traffic to the site, and offer options to those who find themselves at risk of living on the streets. Future work includes proving SEO support for the website, PR advice and help to promote the site in local media and ongoing design advice to help establish the brand among all stakeholders.
