Every June the Bristol Grand Prix transforms the city’s congested streets into a high-speed race track. It’s part of the HSBC UK | Grand Prix series, attracting some of the UK and Europe’s riders from across the UK and best domestic riders. That includes olympic gold medallists, world champions and riders from Team Wiggins, JLT Condor and many others.
All of us at 42group love cycling, so we’ve been working for over three years to establish the Bristol GP on the national calendar. Taking a content-first approach to engagement, PR and social media we’re proud of how the race has grown.
We’ve helped get high-profile press coverage for the race and the riders. Social has gone through the roof, with 50% more Twitter followers added in a month leading up to the race, and an amazing 400% increase in web traffic. In total, we reached over 4m people through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
